- Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy increases the concentration of bioproteins or growth hormones which aid the healing process. PRP Therapy is the process of extracting the liquid part of your blood (plasma), along with platelets, and creating a serum which is injected into an isolated area to accelerate the healing process.
2. After the blood sample is drawn, your clinician will apply an anesthetic on your face, then make a pass over it with a derma-roller or microneedling pen. By doing this, tiny punctures in the skin are created to promote natural skin regrowth, and a place for the PRP to work it’s magic. The tiny punctures in the skin will promote collagen production which will overall reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scars. This will take about 30 minutes.
3. Once the Microneedling portion of your procedure is done, your medical aesthetic nurse will massage your platelet rich plasma (PRP) into your skin. Then a balm or salve will be applied to seal in the magic of your PRP and reduce redness and any irritation.
